Adoption & Fostering Recruitment Team, Birmingham City Council

Birmingham City Council’s Adoption & Fostering (A&F) Recruitment Team has been in existence for 13 years. The current socio-economic environment presents the A&F service with many opportunities as well as challenges. With an increasing number of individuals looking at changing the direction of their careers, the opportunity to explore their suitability to foster is becoming an increasingly occurring reality for more people.

There is also the need to present the solution of adoption as a viable option for many who seek to start or complete their family units. The A & F recruitment team’s response to this has been a pro-active and sustained effort to encourage interest – especially where there are short-falls in meeting the specific needs of Birmingham’s children.
