WAITS Fundraising Evening
Was held on: 5th October 2012, The Copthorne Hotel

On 5th October 2012 WAITS in conjunction with Neo 2 Soul Promotions, held a fundraising Evening to raise funds for Iona House. WAITS seven bed accommodation for women experiencing Domestic Abuse, Homelessness and Offending. Iona House provides holistic support where residents receive advocacy, support and therapeutic workshops to enable them to rebuild their lives.

Our Guests were treated to an evening of Neo Soul, Gospel and Comedy. Artists on the night Coco Brown, Chosen a Gospel Trio from Birmingham, The Lovetts, who reached the Judges house in the X factor Competition, The Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust Choir, US comedian Mugga, Juliette and Shawn and US Singing sensation Nicole Mitchell.

Two women from Iona House shared their very moving stories of life before Iona House and how living at Iona House and given them a safe space to rebuild their life’s and build their confidence.

There were 116 guests who enjoyed a buffet meal followed by a wonderful show. Guests who participated in radio recording for BBC WM, were impressed by the on the high class venue food and show.

The event raised £1,500 which has gone towards paying for activities at Iona House.
