Responding to need!


Here at WAITS we have built up almost 3 decades of experience in the business of supporting vulnerable women.


Over time, the organisation has evolved, and has responded to the needs of women in today’s society. In doing so, we have allowed these needs to shape the services we deliver.


Our services

We offer three key services:


  • The Domestic Abuse Service
  • The Community Integration Project
  • Refuge Accommodation
  • Volunteering and Influencing Project


Our aim


Our services aim to support women to achieve their goals, feel empowered and gain independence.

WAITS works with other agencies to provide holistic support, ensuring that all of the individuals needs are being met.


We support women, on a one to one basis, to address issues such as welfare benefits, resettlement/housing issues, domestic abuse, isolation, physical and mental health, crime, the fear of crime and more.


Unlike some other organisations, our services are not time-bound, meaning we are able to offer ongoing support for as long as it is needed.

WAITS staff & trustees

Our team is made up of a dedicated and committed team of women from varied backgrounds that share our common Vision & Mission.


This includes full-time, part-time and sessional staff as well as our volunteers and the Board of Trustees.


We also work with a range of other agencies to provide holistic support, ensuring that all of the individual’s needs are met.

A valued fundraiser team

WAITS Ambassadors are a group of innovative and forward thinking people, diverse in their backgrounds, experiences and skills.


But the one thing they do all have very much in common is a passion for helping women who are in crisis!


They provide invaluable fundraising ideas; and then plan, organise and facilitate these ideas, helping us to raise funds to support women in crisis.
